Overview+ Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026
Overview+ (listed on the App Store as “Overview+ Calendar”) is built so your information stays on your devices. We don’t run servers for the app, we don’t have accounts, and we don’t collect, sell or share your personal information. This policy explains what the app uses and why.
The short version
- We don’t collect any data. Nothing you put in Overview+ is sent to us.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- Your calendars, reminders and contacts stay in Apple’s apps on your device, and Overview+ reads and writes them there.
- If you connect a Google account, Overview+ talks to Google directly from your device to show and edit your Google Calendar events and Google Tasks. That data never passes through us.
- A few features use Apple services (weather, place search, purchases), covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Information the app uses on your device
Overview+ asks for each permission when you first use the feature, and you can change any of them in the Settings app at any time.
- Calendars: to show, create, edit and delete your events. Events stay in the Calendar app and sync however you’ve set up your accounts (for example iCloud or Google).
- Reminders: to show, create, edit and complete your tasks, stored in the Reminders app.
- Contacts: to show upcoming birthdays and to fill in event locations from saved addresses. Contacts are read on your device and never uploaded.
- Location: to show local weather and suggest nearby places when you add a location. Used only while the app is open.
- Notifications: for event, task and birthday reminders and your daily summary. These are scheduled on your device.
- Photos: only if you choose a profile photo. The photo you pick is kept on your device.
Your settings, profile name and photo, recent locations and similar preferences are stored on your device. The Daily Briefing is written and spoken on your device using Apple’s on-device features.
Apple services
- Weather is provided by Apple Weather. To get a forecast, your approximate location is sent to Apple.
- Place search uses Apple Maps. What you type in the location search, and your approximate location to find nearby results, are sent to Apple.
- Purchases (the free trial and the one-time unlock) are handled entirely by the App Store. We never see your payment details. To remember when your trial started, the app keeps a date in your device’s Keychain, which may sync through iCloud Keychain.
Apple handles this information under Apple’s Privacy Policy. It isn’t shared with us.
Google Calendar and Google Tasks
Connecting a Google account is optional. If you do, in Settings › Calendars, you sign in on Google’s own page — Overview+ never sees your Google password — and Overview+ asks Google for access to:
- Your calendar list (read-only), to show which Google calendars you have, with their names and colors, so you can choose which appear.
- Your calendar events, to show them in the app and to create, edit and delete events when you ask it to.
- Your tasks, to show your Google Tasks lists and to create, edit, complete and delete tasks when you ask it to.
How it’s used. This information is used only to provide those features to you inside Overview+: showing your events and tasks alongside your Apple calendars and reminders, in widgets, in your Top Priority and in the Daily Briefing, and making the changes you make. Overview+ connects to Google’s APIs directly from your device. Your Google data is never sent to us or to anyone else, never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
How it’s stored. Events and tasks are held in the app’s memory while you use it. To show Google events in the Overview+ widgets, the app keeps a small copy of upcoming events (their titles, times and calendar colors) in storage on your device that only Overview+ and its widgets can read. Google’s sign-in keeps your access in your device’s Keychain. Your Google events and tasks are not copied into Apple Calendar or Reminders.
Disconnecting. Choose Disconnect Google Account in Settings › Calendars. Overview+ revokes its access and removes your Google events, tasks and the widget copy from your device. Nothing is deleted from your Google account. You can also remove Overview+’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Overview+’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data we collect
None. We don’t receive your calendar, reminder, contact, Google, location or usage information, and we have no way to see it.
If you email us, we’ll receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it only to reply. You can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.
Children
Overview+ isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your choices and rights
Because your information stays on your device, you’re in control of it: turn any permission off in Settings, disconnect Google in the app, delete events, reminders or contacts in Apple’s apps, or delete Overview+ to remove its settings from your device. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access or delete personal information. Since we don’t hold any, there is usually nothing for us to provide, but you’re welcome to contact us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
